This project mainly aims to encourage and enable young people to participate in building peaceful societies based on diversity and inclusion, in a spirit of respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding

 

Objectives:

 

•To actively promote equality in diversity and denounce all forms of discrimination;

•To learn how to eliminate racism and discrimination, through art;

•To promote intercultural dialogue;

•To involve young people from all European countries in the competition;

•To conduct joint activities with youth NGOs in other countries.

 

Each young photographer will be invited to interpret the theme of the project i.e. Equality, Dignity and Justice and provide creative expression in the form of three photographs for submission to the projects committee. The young photographers shall especially focus on the following topics:

Equality

Dignity and Justice

Democracy and Tolerance

Existing forms of oppression and discrimination

Cultural diversity

Racial Equity and Inclusion

Violence and aggression

Mobility and migration in Europe

 

A brief caption explaining every photo would be greatly appreciated.

 

2. Selection of photographs from each category

An scientific committee of 5 persons, will judge the photographs from the  countries involved and will choose 17 winners. The leading representatives of the media world, entertainment and photography will sit on the panel of judges. (Journalists, photographers, photo editors)

 

3.  Presenting exhibitions at major / relevant galleries in Bulgaria and abroad.

The 17 winners’ artworks will be displayed in a collective exhibition which will be held in Plovdiv in November 2007 and then it will go around the Bulgarian Cultural Centers in Berlin, Warsaw and Budapest.

 

4. Publishing a catalogue to accompany the exhibition.

An "Art against Racism" catalogue will be published, to accompany the exhibition in Bulgaria and abroad. The catalogue will consist all 17 winners artworks participating in the collective exhibition and works participated in the competition, which meet the project theme requirements.
